Hex packed dot matrix
The hexagonal packing falls out on its own, with no offset anywhere: rows of 3, 4, 5, 4 and 3 dots, each centred. The short rows tuck half a cell in by themselves, which is exactly what a hand written offset would have produced. And the whole thing is authored at 39 units and scaled ONCE, so every measurement inside is a whole number.
